(Stops: Kunsthalle, Budapest and a random sidewalk in Bucharest Days 185 and 225)
When I was in Budapest, I caught this small but very cool exhibition of works by János Géczi. I had never heard of this incredibly wide-ranging academic, poet, and visual artist. That’s what travel does for you. New ideas and experiences that click. And, then they reconnect with you on a later day.

I took photos of some of his work displayed in the nineteenth century building.

The raw material for these collages and décollages is everywhere in Europe. Much more so that in most US and certainly any Japanese cities. Posters are glued up everywhere. And, with the amount of construction going on in most of the cities I have visited, there is plenty of real estate available on fences and hoardings that nobody really cares to clean up. Then the rain goes to work and the layers sometime reveal a ghost.

A bit of found art from the sidewalk in Bucharest. (O’Neill, 2024)
